'Donkey Fest' Blackpool CouncilArtist Danielle Chappell's 'Donkey Fest', was a sweeping array of stitched drawn donkeys with grey cotton thread, embedded on a 2 meter high lightbox, with a quad of coloured interchangable lights (set on a timer) illuminating the Blackpool Tourist Information Centre window space at night. Following research of the various identities & characteristics of Blackpools tourism & being brought up in a family ran hotel, the conceptual connection of the cabanna tents represeting hotels & repetitive standard VACANCIES/NO VACANCIES signs were subconcious to this project. |

Seaside Exposure, Blackpool Council'Seaside Exposure' art installation was created to be exhibited at the Blackpool Tourist Infomation Centre in mind when designing stage through to materialisation in situ. Danielle Chappell collaborated with a local signage firm, an electrian and joiner to help create her piece in return their logo was printed on the postcard that was distributed nationwide aswell as locally in Blackpool and on the information panel accompanying the work in the window. Linear Rhythm, textiles installation witLinear Rhythm was featured at Club 'One Central St' in Manchester as an experiment to see how the work would react in the space of a night club, after all its inspired by the music scene, so in context it went. The photography of the art installation was the stronger element of the work in terms of commeriality, Danielle has since sold some prints from this Collection.
